It’s been a long time coming, but the Mystery Boxes have received their long awaited return! You will now find the section streamlined (like the rest of the sections in the Almanac). The section is up to date, and will always remain so. Furthermore, the Mystery Boxes now have expanded data displays so all the available stats will show just like it does for Animals, Decorations, and so on.

Hope you enjoy!

Today has brought us a new crop: Organic Blueberries! It is masterable but only for one week! While there isn’t much else to report on, the Mystery Gift and Mystery Egg sections have been upgraded to join the rest of the website. Over the next few days, some cosmetic changes will be occurring (no downtime) to bring this site up to the full version 2.5! SO without further ado, on the the good stuff!

New Crops:

Organic Blueberries

The Almanac is now undergoing day 2 of it’s reconstruction. Like yesterday, this post will be updated as things progress.

*UPDATE*
Consumables have been upgraded to reflect the new changes seen in Animals and Buildings.

*UPDATE 2*
Expansions have been upgraded as well.

*UPDATE 3*
Trees have been upgraded to the new system.

*UPDATE 4*
Vehicles now also reflect the upgrade’s changes.

*UPDATE 5*
Decorations are now available under the new look.

*UPDATE 6*
Crops have now been upgraded. New to crops is the inclusion of Mastery Signs and Bushels to those crops that offer them. Go ahead, check them out! This concludes Day 2 of the Almanac upgrade. NOTE: We are aware that the Mystery Gift and Mystery Egg sections are not functioning. By tomorrow night these sections should be fixed.

As of right now, the Almanac will be undergoing major under the hood reconstructive surgery that will streamline the whole thing for you. What this will translate into is faster loading and some new information, including Mastery Signs and Bushels!

An update will follow once the upgrade is completed. In the meantime, you may notice some weird things going on in the Almanac so don’t be too concerned!

*UPDATE*
The animals section has been upgraded. Noticeable upgrades include 2nd and 3rd release information tables displaying under seperate headings, whereas before they were jumbled into the same table.

*UPDATE 2*
The buildings section has been upgraded. See above for noticeable changes. Construction work has ceased for the day. Thank you for your understanding and patience!

You’ve been asking for it and now it has finally arrived! The Mystery Egg section has been revamped! You’ll find that it is more streamlined and is dynamic (in the backend). It makes life easier for me and for you! The eggs may get some tweaking here and there but the end result will be similar to what is shown now. So what do you think?

Last night McFarmVille has updated with info on the new Bobcat and Southwestern items. That’s right, just because there was no post about it, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen!

Also, for those of you wondering about the activity of the website on Facebook, there is a new Activity Feed in the sidebar. Now everyone can see what everyone is sharing about the website! How cool is that?

Sadly, FarmVille has gotten rid of it’s photo feature. This means in-game pics will be harder to come by, for now. Interestingly though, I managed to get one last pic for you, and it was in widescreen! Do you think the feature will return in this new format, or is it gone for good?

Some new features have been added to the website for you all! Here’s a quick run-down of all the new features:

- Like Button: You can now Like any post or page on the website and share it with your friends on your Facebook Feed.
- Facebook Connect: You can now login in using your Facebook username and password instead of signing up for a new one. This streamlines everything for you and makes life easier! (Note: No usernames or passwords are stored on our servers, everything is run through Facebook itself.)
- Fans: You can now see our fanbase directly and say hi to everyone!
- Comments: Using Facebook Connect, you can post comments without login in as long as you’re logged into Facebook! Your profile pic will show as well. How awesome is that?

As always, share your thoughts and criticisms!

Today brings you a massive update to the Almanac! You may now read up on all Consumables, Expansions, Landscapes, and Vehicles that ever were or are available in the game along with any relevant stats they may possess.

The Almanac is forever growing and it requires your active participation to do so. Keep visiting, commenting, and spreading the site to your peers to allow the Almanac to grow and prosper! As always, let me know what you think and share your suggestions!

Lynn, A user of McFarmVIlle and an active commentator on our posts had a few things to say in our previous post and has inspired me to write up a public suggestion box for Zynga and the makers of FarmVille:

Many users have many complaints about the current stat of the game. I have some solutions that I hope Zynga would consider and here they are in brief:
1) Too many FC items – Solution: Make FC items available for coins. Like real life, we can’t buy everything. However, the goal is for Zynga to make money. As a compromise, FC items should be made available for coins as well… but for twice or thrice the FC equivalent value.

2)Farm is too small – Solution: Zynga has already stated that more expansions are coming.

3) Not enough storage – Solution: Make storage unlimited. Zynga has limited storage to a cap of 100. They then added expansions to storage buildings, essentially robbing users of the full use of the barns players had paid FC for. I.E. 6 barns at full upgrade > 100 storage. Storage is directly dependant on the type of buildings on the farm and farms only have limited size. As such, by making storage unlimited, players will have to balance useable farm space with space for storage buildings. Unlimited storage space would also promote more income for Zynga as the potential for players buying more FC barns increases.

While I don’t think these solutions will happen, or even occur sometime soon, it is interesting to hear what everyone thinks. Do you have any complaints about the game? What about some solutions?

Dogs are here!

Spike and Foals

Puppies have finally come to the market! Unlike regular animals, these dogs cannot be harvested and instead follower your farmer around the farm and do tricks. There is a catch though, they must be fed once a day or they risk running away (coins dogs only, FC dogs never starve!).

While the Alamanac doesn’t have pets yet, it has been upgraded to display all release and retirement dates any given animal, building, crop or tree may have. For example: compare the Goat to the Valley Quail to see the differences!

Also two new harvestable animals were released!
